About Us

Generations was founded in 2008 and is a member of Texas Nonprofit Theatres. We provide a uniquely collaborative environment in which both professionals and younger nonprofessional apprentices can work, learn, and grow together. Producing new as well as established works at Rice University’s Hamman Hall, Generations is a proving ground for the next generation of Houston-area theatre artists. Generations offers a limited number of apprentice positions for aspiring theatre artists in design, stage management, and acting.

As an apprentice you receive a stipend.

As a professional you receive a paycheck in line with what most small professional theatres in Houston pay.

We do have a limited number of AEA contracts.
